Help to light this beautiful Nunnery up again

The Convent Of The Holy Name is situated in Malvern, Worcestershire, UK . It was once home to 250 Nuns.

The Community of the Holy Name established the convent in Ranelagh Road in 1879.

In the 1960's the intake of novices declined and, by the mid 1980's, the community was struggling financially and began to sell off land for housing and then industrial development. In 1989, the convent was sold and the few remaining nuns moved to a smaller convent in Derby, where they remain today.

This beautiful Nunnery is the heart of the local community and sadly over the years the site has been heavily vandalised , we have spent a small fortune since May 2021 cleaning the site up, carrying out constant repairs and keeping the building safe from further vandalism and break - ins .

We have recently ran a very successful free open day which saw hundreds of people visit and look round this lovely building.

We are needing a little help to fund our next project which could help this building in more ways that can be imagined, we urgently need to install a new electric supply into Harvest House which is one of the buildings in the convent complex, this would enable us to run a 32 camera CCTV system , covering every part of the convent , all these cameras would connect to our mobile devices which means we would be immediately alerted if anyone is in the grounds , this would keep the building safe and secure. We pay a monthly fee for the provision of the metal shutters but sadly it isn't enough to stop the place being targeted.

A new electric supply would also mean we would be able to offer more community events such as Christmas Fayres, Movie evenings, more open days. It would also help us gain more interest from Film Crews and Photography groups, it would certainly unlock more doors which would benefit this beautiful building and the local community.
