Help to get me through sudden loss of income

I have never felt comfortable asking for help, but I'm worried now without it I'll go under again. I’d just started work on a couple of big conferences when they were abruptly cancelled due to the global Corona virus outbreak and with them my entire income for the next several months along with my hopes at getting back on my feet. I am owed a bit for the start of the work I did, but it will keep me afloat for a few weeks, not the 3/4 months we are now facing. Those close to me have urged me to reach out for help this time, so I will try.

I need some support to get over this bit, to keep my roof over my head and to pay utilities and buy food. That's it. I will buy no luxuries, alcohol and will obviously not socialise whatsoever during this period (I'm in spain and not even allowed outside apart from certain exemptions). So far no measures of assistance have been offered from the government here specifically towards tenants or autónomo (self employed) citizens.

If for whatever reason I get more work, or I have an excess when this is over, I will donate money to homelessness charities. Regardless, I will pay this help forward one day, and help others, as I've always done when I could anyway.

I feel pretty sick taking this step and I hope you understand why I felt I had to. Look after each other through this and stay safe.
