Family devastated by fatal accident-

Following a fatal car accident involving 4 members of the same family, they are now struggling to pay bills and make ends meet.

Please consider helping this family so that they can concentrate on healing, rather than keeping a roof over their heads.

On July 2nd, this family of 4 was making their way home from a hard day at work together: a husband and wife (Amadeo & Damaris) sharing the hour long commute with her sister and brother-in-law (Guadalupe & Estuardo).  Tragically, they were struck from behind by a hit-and-run driver and catapulted into a concrete pillar.

Lupe and Estuardo were in the back seat and ejected from the vehicle. Estuardo lost his life and Lupe suffered many broken bones including a pelvis broken in several places.

In the front seat, Amadeo and Damaris fared slightly better. Amadeo has lost mobility in the lower half of his body, unable to sit or stand up. Damaris had several broken bones, but thankfully has mostly recovered and is now able to care for her bed-ridden husband and sister. 

Much of the family's savings was spent to transport Estuardo's body home to Guatemala to rest near his family.  Now unable to work, the three remaining family members have pulled together, depending heavily on the wages of their nephew to support them. He must take off work to get them to and from doctor's appointments, as their only vehicle was totally destroyed in the accident.

Amadeo needs additional tests and therapy in order to find out if he will ever regain use of his legs. Lupe needs further treatment and therapy as she struggles to heal from her shattered pelvis and the sudden loss of her husband. Damaris is fighting to take care of everyone else, but seriously needs to take care of herself.  They are worried about:

*paying rent (going from a 5 income family to 1-their nephew)

*buying food

*paying medical bills

*finding medical transportation for medical care (Amadeo)

*affording physical therapy

*funding a used car to return to work
