Help Therapy Dog Stella with Medical Bills

Stella is a Golden Retriever in a Golden Retriever Group I run on Facebook. I am creating this fundraiser to be used on Stella's Medical Bills. We know she has to have a scan, and we will find out, after the scan, what else she will need and if we will need to raise the amount needed. Stella has given a lot in her work as a therapy dog. Now it is her turn to be on the receiving end.

Stella Guy has been a therapy dog since her first birthday working with kids of abuse and homelessness, autism, hospitals & more.

At two, she became a Hope Animal Assisted Crisis Response dog. She has traveled across the US for major fires, mass shootings, local schools for student and teacher deaths & more.

This is now her time to be taken care of.

Stella had a mast cell tumor removed in July. The report came back grade 2; they got it all & the margins. Three weeks later, she started coughing/hacking/having breathing issues.

At the ER, it was discovered with X-rays, blood work and other tests her right middle lung was collapsed, and there was air filling her whole chest cavity. They put her in an oxygen kennel, hydrated her with IVs, and medication, tapped her right lung removed 3 liters of air and 800 ml off her left lung, more X-rays, and more tapping off her right and left lungs. They kept her 24 hours.

We brought her home and were told she needed to lay really low, no exercise & not get heated up. Follow up with regular vet at two weeks. She seemed like she was getting better. Today we did the follow-up; x-rays-still right lung collapsed, still air surrounding, three new white rings showing. Blebs/Bullae (air-filled cysts forming in lungs) CT scan needed now to see if there’s a tear, tumor?

Surgery? Chest tube?

We have paid a little more than $6000 in Medical bills to date. The ct scan estimate is another $2000, surgery?

We have maxed out both our care credit accounts.

This is why it’s harder.

I had to retire her from Hope, the hospital & working with PAWsitive friendships, which she dearly loved. She has made such an impact everywhere she has given healing.
