Help the Warriors get to IMART

In June, the Llanelli Warriors will take a squad to the International Mixed Ability Rugby World Cup (IMART) in Cork.

IMART 2022 will be the biggest Mixed Ability Rugby World Cup to date, with 28 teams from around the world competing to win the trophy - the Warriors are very proud to be sending a squad and competing in this prestigious tournament.

If you are not sure what mixed ability rugby is, it's regular social rugby that actively encourages people with a disability to join the team, it's genuine inclusion, and there really is a jersey for everyone. The Warriors were formed over 26 years ago and have been playing and training weekly since then.

We asked squad member Lloyd why mixed ability rugby matters to him; he told us, "I love Mixed Ability Rugby because everyone is included, and everybody matters."

 

The Warriors are fundraising towards the costs of the tour; it will cost almost £11,000 to send the squad and support, so one of the ways in which we are fundraising is with a sponsored bike ride, the combined mileage being the distance from Llanelli to Cork and back!
