Help the Soto's, Hurricane Harvey

My dear friends Traci, Benny, their two beautiful daughters Lilly (5 years old) and Magnolia (4 months old) and two dogs have sadly felt the wrath of Hurricane Harvey at their home in Dickinson, Texas. On Sunday, August 27th I received the following text from Traci and my heart sank. "Hey! Just an update. We had to leave our house. Had about 4 inches of rain inside when we left and rising. Outside street was up to my chest. Joe and Wendy drove as close as they could and walked rest of the way. A man with a kayak got the girls, the dogs, and me to the street and we walked. We're safe. Everything is ruined at the house"

Being so far away in California I felt and feel helpless. I put together a care package I'll be mailing today, but want to do more for them. Since they had to leave in such a rush, they were unable to grab anything. Hopefully in the next few days the flooding at their home will subside and they'll be able to go assess the damages and see what was lost and what's salvageable if anything.

Currently, they are staying with Benny's sister and her family who have graciously taken them in. Thank you to them for all they're doing and to all of you, thank you in advance for taking the time to read their story. They have a long road ahead of them and it will be awhile before they are able to live in their home again.

The money donated will help get clothing for the family, diapers and wipes for the baby, dog food for their two dogs, school supplies for Lilly as she just started Kindergarten last week, and basic living essentials. If there's anything you can donate on the family's behalf, I know they will appreciate it immensely!
