Hi everyone! I'm Chris, a long-time friend of the Silva Family. A little over a year ago, Joe was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, the most aggressive cancerous brain tumor there is. He's undergone surgery and treatment to battle it, but this tumor is known to grow back rapidly.
Joe hasn't been able to work steadily since his diagnosis, and his family has done all they can to apply for all of the benefits that he deserves. The paperwork and the wait are making it difficult, and he now requires round-the-clock care, which his family is lovingly providing.
Joe has fought as hard as he can to beat this disease and is continuously surrounded by his wife, Tara, and his sons, Ryan and Kyle (among all of his other family members and friends), we'd love to give them the peace of mind by raising money for them to continue to provide his ongoing care without any other distractions.
Joe is a lifelong resident of Peabody, MA, and made many sacrifices so that his children could attend St. John the Baptist and St. John's Prep. He was an active dad and always attended his sons' various sports and music events. He is a proud member of the Portuguese community and loved playing in the Banda Recreativa Portuguesa. He is loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting him, but mostly by his family. Many people have been asking how they can help, so we'd like you to consider donating.
