Financial Impact - Covid19 and Vandalism

First of all The Roll Pod family would like to thank everybody who have cared for our little family during these tough times. People have supported through donations, buying gift cards, purchasing food, tipping our employees and through their words of encouragement.
Phinney Neighbourhood gave us parking space to support us.
We are more than grateful to every individual, group and community.
We have been using the donations to fill the salary gaps for our employees that the business was not able to provide, provide free groceries to our employees, also doing our part of donating free food to the needy people in Seattle. In the last part of May we started getting slightly better and stronger.
Unfortunately on 31st night, both our trucks parked in West Seattle were broken into, all our generators and ipad/tablets stolen. The replacement cost of these are close to $10,000 PLUS we also had to face 5-6 shifts loss.
It was heartbreaking for us to see that to happen to our well knit family, which was already healing from a much bigger wound. We are bleeding more now (in many fronts) but we know this will only make us a much more stronger entity.
Definetely these are trying times for everybody.
From our side we are doing our best to provide options for lovely customers to enjoy our yummy rolls and bowls both in Bellevue and Seattle/Ballard/Greenwood area pretty much everyday of the week.
And we promise, we are unstoppable especially because you have been supporting us always.

The Roll Pod is a family owned small business that started operations less than 3 years ago. We are a success story and immensely popular Food Truck in the South Lake Union area where the Amazon headquarters are located. We have a team of 20 hourly employees whose bread and butter depends on the salary that The Roll Pod pays. We are a company that firmly believes in being absolutely fair and true not only to its customers but also to its employees. Because of our fair and honest principles, we have one of the best retention rates in an industry which is known for very fast hire/fire policies. We have employees that have been with us ever since the inception of The Roll Pod.
Before the COVID-19 scare hit Seattle and surrounding areas we were serving almost 500 customers daily during lunch time. We started seeing a gradual drop in sales the week when the Corona Virus hit the King County. Then on March 5th, companies like Amazon, Google, Facebook, Microsoft etc. announced that all its employees should work remotely till at-least the end-of-March. On March 5th our sales dropped by almost 80% and less than 100 customers came to our trucks. That was just the beginning, and the trend continues to spiral down since then.
With this sudden downward trend, the impact to our business has been catastrophic. This is how we have been impacted:-
· Each truck used to have 4-6 employees per truck every day, we were forced to reduced the number to 2 per truck, per day
· Cooking, prep, helper hours have all gone down by 60%
· Not every employee is able to get the needed hours to cover their cost of living – some of them have pre-existing conditions, some are single Moms and survival becomes a struggle
· The business is trying to retain all the employees by rotating its team of 20 employees and giving everyone as much hours as possible
· We had a fairly large operation needed to serve 500-600 customers daily, the fixed cost of that operation still remains and the business is struggling to meet even the fixed cost
At this time we are requesting all of you to contribute whatever amount is feasible, so that The Roll Pod Employees’ can still get their much needed wages to sustain themselves and their family for the next 1 – 1.5 months. Each and every penny counts and will be used towards the welfare of its employees till the Corona Virus wave has passed.

The funds will be used to pay wages and to provide basic essentials for the needy employees during this hard time
