The Party Potatoes is a Destination Imagination team composed of fourth graders from Clinton Elementary. In this competition, the team has opted to start a public service campaign to help NASA send humans to Mars. By qualifying for the state finals and by finishing first in the state in their age bracket, they have now been invited to the global finals.
To be held on the campus of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville from May 23-26 of this year, the global finals will involve over 1400 teams from 14 different countries. The Party Potatoes will be the first team from Clinton Elementary to compete in the global finals.
While the six kids in the team (Rider, Sam, Micah, Opal, Mitch, and Natty) have been working hard since last Fall to earn their invite, they will need some help to go to Tennessee. The minimum cost to attend the event is estimated to be $750 per person. With six kids and 3 parent-chaperons, the total cost is enormous.
This competition is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these fourth graders. Please help them make Clinton Elementary and Clintonville proud by helping them go to Tennessee.
