Sometimes, life happens to you all at once. These are my parents and little sister, Bill, Debbie, and Lauren Padgett. I love them dearly, and they need help.
My Mother, one of the sweetest women you would ever meet, with the ability to find the light in every situation, is disabled with very advanced autoimmune disorders, including psoriasis, two kinds of arthritis, diabetes, and is on palliative care pain management. Stairs are difficult at best on a good day, and on bad days, remaining in bed is the only option.
My Father, a freight train of a human, continues to work very hard to provide for the family, but sometimes one working person is just not enough, especially with pay cuts due to COVID, and this has led to his own health issues. A heart attack last year and now a mostly detached retina nearly blinding his left eye are scary to say the least. On top of that, he was in an accident that injured his neck, compounding existing issues. He is recovering well now, but unplanned medical expenses on top of my mother's already expensive healthcare have become too much.
My Sister, a goofball to her core and powerful spirit, is currently living with our parents and struggling with employment, as so many people her age are right now. She and I struggle with many of the same health issues and she is doing an incredible job recovering from some difficult life situations. I am deeply proud of her. She is volunteering in her community and on the hunt for a job to help herself and the family.
Their Needs
Moving to a smaller, more affordable home
Their lease is up Nov 30 and they plan to move into a smaller home to cut expenses.
Potential New Home
$3000 - first month's rent and deposit
$2000 - funds for necessary repairs in current home
$1600 - movers
$400 - move out cleaning service.
Medical expenses not covered by their insurance
$3000 (optometrist, cardiologist, physical therapy, chiropractor)
These three troopers are on their way quickly to stability and we just need a little help. No donation is too small, thank you for reading my family's story.
