Help the Goldbeck's Fight Guillain-Barre!

Donation protected
Pam and Karl Goldbeck, two of the most loving, selfless, people on this earth, traveled across the country to watch my kiddos for a week. At the end of that week, Karl, our big, strong, Firefighter, with the ever-ready smile, was effectively paralyzed. He was rushed to the ER and admitted with Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). Weeks later, Karl and Pam remain trapped in a small ICU room, far from the rest of their family and friends, battling every day against this disease.

Karl is fighting against GBS bravely, with such strength and determination that his whole medical team literally cheer him on! Pam is relentless in her care, hardly leaving the room for a moment, helping Karl communicate his needs, and being his strength in the scariest moments.

There is nothing they can't fight through together, but GBS does not go away quickly. Their Intensivist warned Pam that GBS is one of the most expensive afflictions to treat from start to finish. Right now they've been in the ICU for two weeks, they have more hospital time to go, plus transit back home eventually, and the long path to rehabilitation.

If you can, please help us try to alleviate some of the financial strain so that Pam and Karl can focus on what really matters -- getting Karl back to good health, his home, and his family.

Thank you!
