Help The Giving Room Pay Their Contributors

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Cerissa DiValentino, and I am the founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Giving Room Review —a literary magazine dedicated to supporting BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, and women creatives. We are a team of eight editors that reflect the communities we accept submissions from. In May, we will be producing our first digital magazine to publish and celebrate our contributors, but as we don't believe in charging these communities submission fees, we are looking for other monetary support so we can pay our contributors what they deserve for their work. More than anyone, especially now, these communities need the resources to share their voices, and our mission is to uplift what they want to say to the highest we are capable.

After the murder of George Floyd, The Giving Room Review was founded with a mission to make space in the world for the voices that deserve it most. Our mission is to create a platform accessible for BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, and women creatives. As editors, we want our readers to feel the strength of our contributors' voices—through vulnerability, through adversity, and through creativity.

It would mean so much to us to be able to pay our contributors. Any amount helps us in accomplishing this goal. We hope you will consider donating, especially if you are white and have the privilege to do so.

Thank you so much for your time,
Cerissa
