Help The Empty Space Find a New Home

Hello everyone,

The Empty Space, an alternative studio in Austin, was created in September of 2021 and although we have loved our current location, we have outgrown the size of our building and we are looking to move this fall. To better serve our community and create the educational, spiritual, and adventurous environments we are well known for, we are asking for help to upgrade to a larger venue with more amenities.

The Empty Space is an intentional void to be filled and to holistically contain. This container can be filled with any type of energy that you choose to bring. We invite you to explore your strength and desires through education, movement, and spiritual practices. Each class, workshop, and event is an opportunity to fill your cup with something new. Come join our community and share the unique gifts that only you can provide. Come as you are, stay and be seen.

The Space here is held with a foundation of respect, awareness, agency and radical self-expression. We ask that all of our community members near and far commit to honesty, accountability, and continued learning as we intend to do the same.

OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL:

The Empty Space is a space known for providing accessible and inclusive classes for the kink and sexual education community for the last 2 years. This means that we rely on our local community to help provide this space as well as center community needs when scheduling events and setting prices. Now we are kindly asking for community help to sustain this collective resource.

Our fundraising goal of $10,000 will help us finish out our current lease, move out of our current space and help us find an ideal space for 2024.

This is no small undertaking. We appreciate all of the community love and the continued expression of gratitude when it comes to having our space and our events. If The Empty Space is a resource that the community finds valuable and wants to help sustain, we ask for your support now. Together, we have all the passion and knowledge to host the events y'all are looking for, however, running this space is a full-time position that is emotionally satisfying but not financially lucrative enough without support.

Please consider donating today. This space is owned by two queer women of color who also have full-time jobs in midwifery and sex education. We cannot do this move alone and we are in desperate need of financial support to make this transition a reality.
