On Friday, July 10, our sister, Shannon, her husband, Chad Ellis, and our nieces and nephew lost their home in a devastating house fire. The damage is extensive with next to nothing salvageable.
While we are incredibly grateful that our nieces and nephew were not home at the time and that courageous neighbors were able to rescue their beloved dogs, Bo and Addie, their family also experienced heartbreaking losses. They lost their sweet dog, Dakota, as well as their precious cats, Casey and Beth. In the midst of the devastation, there was one small miracle—after the flames were extinguished, their bearded dragon, Yoda, was found inside the home. Thanks to two days of excellent veterinary care, Yoda has made a remarkable recovery and is now back with the family.
Although insurance will help with rebuilding their home, the immediate needs are significant. We are raising funds to help cover essentials such as clothing, toiletries, bedding, food, dog supplies, and other everyday necessities as they adjust to temporary living arrangements and begin the long process of rebuilding their lives.
Any donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference during this incredibly difficult time. If you're unable to contribute financially, we would be deeply grateful if you could share this fundraiser with your friends, family, and colleagues.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity and support. Your compassion means more than words can express as Shannon, Chad, and the kids begin the journey toward healing and rebuilding.
