Help the Education of Children Affected by COVID

We are Academic Advancements, a student-led NGO dedicated to providing financial aid for children who has been affected by COVID. Many children have been impacted negatively in a multitude of ways: Loss of parents and source of income due to complications of COVID, loss of access to education, and more. This has had a devastating effect on their lives. More crucially, these children face great Trauma, and are at risk of Trafficking and other inhuman dangers (NPR). In Pattapur, India, thousands of children have lost their parents, and older siblings had to take on the overwhelming family responsibilities. Children cry, "‘Mother, When Will You Come?." (NY Times) No children should have to face these traumatic and tough life. No children should sacrifice their own education at an avoidable expense, which is crucial to their future.

 

At Academic Advancements, we believe everyone deserves access to education. Already, we have assisted 3 families in India. Two teenage girls have lost their father due to COVID and cancer complications, and we have provided aid monthly to them ($30 USD). This was enough for their financial needs such as scholarship and school tuition, as well as buying new educational resources. By the end of the summer of 2023, we aim to continuously support the education of 100 families who have been affected by COVID-19 or complications of other diseases and are unable to financially provide for their children in Southeast Asia, focusing on India. By providing financial support for their education, we hope to enrich all their education and impact their life. We need your help!
