Help Terri Anne Severe Chronic Health Needs Mattress & Rent

My name is Terri Anne Troyer, I’m 64 yrs. I have 22 diagnosed Chronic illnesses and 3 Rare Chronic diseases. I lived in my car because of lack of income from April, 2023 until January 2025, when I finally got off the Waitlist for a Low Income Housing apartment. I leased a 1 Bed Low Income apartment in January, 2025. I can’t work a job because of all my chronic health conditions. I am living on Social Security and it’s not enough income. I need help with monthly medicines and monthly rent of $755. In May, I had a Mini-Stroke, bad Cellulitis infection in my left leg, with probable blood clot. Right now I need desperately need money to buy a mattress, box springs & bed frame. I am currently sleeping on the floor- which is REALLY painful due to my Scoliosis, Degenerative Disc disease, and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Because of my Asthma & severe Allergies I need to buy a new mattress (not used). I’ve been sick since 2019 with many illnesses (Pertussis, Mononucleosis, Severe Immune Response, Heart Attack, RSV, Shingles, Bronchitis, Respiratory Infections, torn Rotators Cuff, torn Shoulder & arm muscles, and more). I had to cash in all my Retirement accounts. I don’t have enough money coming in, and I am unable to work due to my chronic diseases: Lymphadenopathy, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Stage 3 Kidney Disease, Bronchiectasis, Asthma, Scoliosis, Degenerative Disc Disease, Venous Insufficiency in both legs, and more. I don’t have enough money to pay for my monthly medicine prescriptions and doctor Copays, food, rent, and bills.

My car is an 2005 Honda with 249,000 miles and it NEEDS MAJOR repairs including: steering replacement ($2400), air conditioner condenser & fans ($3000+), and new tires, & more.

Sleeping in my car was very bad for my Scoliosis, Stage 3 Kidney Disease, Asthma, Bronchiectasis, and Allergies. And now sleeping on the floor is really painful and is very bad for my spine and Scoliosis. I don’t have any money to buy another used car with working air conditioning, or even have enough money to pay for food and bills. I make handmade jewelry and I sit by the side of the road to sell it, when I am well enough, and when it’s not too hot or cold outside. But due to health problems lately and how fragile my legs are, I can’t sit outside to sell my handmade items now. I really need money now to buy a mattress, box springs, & bed frame, and for apartment rent, monthly medicines, food, gas, and a used car with working air conditioning (+ license plates, sales tax etc). I can NOT share apartment space with anyone due to my numerous chronic diseases and my being immunocompromised. My doctors are all here in Chapel Hill NC. My family and my daughter are in other states. I need to stay in Chapel Hill, NC because my doctors are in process of diagnosing whether I have Lymph Cancer, Lupus, and/or additional Autoimmune Diseases. I have something seriously wrong with my Immune system. I have recently been diagnosed with Lymphadenopathy, so I might have Lupus or Lymphoma cancer. My doctors are trying to diagnose what chronic disease is causing the lymphadenopathy and causing me to get sick with every disease I am exposed to.

I have been diagnosed with the following chronic diseases, including 2 rare diseases, and other diseases not listed below:

1) Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (genetic disease caused by a defect in the gene that codes for collagen that affects my everything in my body)

2) Mesentery Panniculitis.

3) Scoliosis (I need rod implants surgery- but the spine surgeon told me wouldn’t survive the surgery).

4) Degenerative Disc Disease

5) Osteoarthritis

6) Stage 3 Kidney Disease

7) Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis

8) Asthma

9) Bronchiectasis

10) Severe Allergies (food, insect, pollen, fragrance, environmental)

11) Mitrovalve Prolapse

12) Heart Arrhythmia, heart Palpitations,

10) Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome

11) Venous Insuffiency (all veins in both legs)

12) Raynaud Syndrome

13) Stage 1 Skin cancer

and other chronic health conditions.

I need to stay in this area (Chapel Hill, NC) for continued medical care to hopefully be diagnosed with what is causing my immune system to not function normally. I am extremely embarrassed and very humbled to ask for help, but I have no other options as I have depleted all my assets. All donated money will be put towards food, medicines, gas, bills, housing, and hopefully a mattress, box springs, and bed frame and also possibly there will be enough to buy a used, reliable, clean car with working air conditioning.
