Help Teresa battle Cancer

My name is Teresa and I am a 56 year old single women with 2 adult children and 4 of the best grandchildren a grandmother could ask for.
On August 8, I went to the doctors for a head cold that seemed to work its way down to my lungs. Little did I know that the X-ray they took would dramatically change my life in every way possible.
The X-ray showed a spot on my lung. Over the past couple of months, I have been in and out of doctors appointment, labs, procedures, CT & PET scans all to find out that I have Lung Cancer. It has also spread to my Lymph Nodes.
My latest doctors appointment on Nov. 30th I was told that on Dec. 12th I will go in for surgery (if my insurance approves it) to cut part of my lung out and one of my Lymph Nodes. I will be in the hopsital for a mininum of 1 week and have 8-10 weeks of recovery. After that I have to start Chemotherapy. I have no idea how long the Chemotherapy will last.
During this same visit I was also informed that during one of my CT scans they found a spot on my brain. The doctors plan on addressing this after my surgery. Another thing that will change my life.
With every appointment there comes a cost. With every procedure there comes a cost. With every trip, meal, and treatment there is a cost that we didn't prepare for.
My insurance company, through The Affordable Care Act, informed me that my health insurance is expiring at the end of Dec. 2017. I have reapplied but now with me having Cancer I have not been able to work for the past few months. And now I do not qaulify for the insurance. They are reviewing it but I was told that if I get approved it will cost about $1,300.00 per month. How can I afford that when I can't work? And even if I did, how could a waitress afford that?
As much as my pride wants me to keep this to myself and just deal with it, I have asked God to soften my heart. To let me allow people to help. To ask people to help.
Yes, I am asking for help. Whether it's prayer, reaching out or helping offset costs associated with this diagnosis. I am thankful for any and all of the support I will receive. The only reason my heart is where it is because of the support I have had. My goal is to help offset 2018 & 2019 Out of Pocket costs, as I know this fight will continue, even past 2019.
So. Again. I say thank you for your support. For your prayers. For your blessings.
God is good.
