Help Tay Fight the Tumors

Donation protected
In April 2021,  my cousin Taylor started experiencing migraines so severe that she was unable to stand, go to work, or even function. Right off the heels of a kidney infection, she went to the hospital and was told she was fine. Already a cancer survivor, she knew this wasn't right and went elsewhere, insisting on a brain scan. The brain scan showed a large tumor, and she was admitted to the hospital and booked in for emergency surgery to remove it.  A full-body MRI showed an additional mass in her lung. Doctors are speculating that her melanoma from 2 years ago has returned and spread but they won't be sure until the pathology report comes back.

Taylor is a rock of her family, always working through adversity and obstacles with humor and positivity. Upon hearing that she'd be having emergency brain surgery, she joked that she had been thinking about shaving her head anyway. She lives near her mom, step-dad, and Grandma in Portland, Oregon and visits often to make sure they're taken care of. After losing her job (and health insurance) in the pandemic, she started busting her butt working two jobs to make ends meet and make sure her rescue cat lives her best life. These health issues are happening less than two months after the shocking and sudden death of her dad, with whom visits had been limited due to the strict regulations going in and out of his home state of Hawaii. She has been trying to be the support system for her brother and mom, but is now facing what will likely be extensive and invasive treatment for herself, without her dad and still grieving the loss.

Taylor underwent surgery on 4/20/21. It went well and she is currently recovering. Once the pathology report comes back in a few days, doctors will know the prognosis and the next steps that need to be taken. Even though Tay is stressed about the news she will receive and doing her best to stay positive, she is also worried about her rent and what will be a big wave of medical bills. We, her extended family, have been contributing as much as we can so she can focus on getting better, but we are bracing for substantial bills given the loss of her health insurance. In two years, Taylor has faced cancer, the death of her dad, job loss due to a pandemic, and now tumors in her brain and lung. She always does her best to be the support for other people, but we need to be the support for her. It's too much for one person. We are asking for help so that when she beats this latest obstacle and does so with her classic Tay sense of humor, that she can focus on her recovery and catch her breath and know that some of her medical bills and rent are being taken care of.
