Help Tavon Tanner Attend St. Patrick High School

Thank you for taking the time to read this fundraiser organized to help pay for Tavon Tanner's tuition at St. Patrick High School. My name is Patrick Munyon and I am a Chicago Police Detective. Myself and my partner, Kevin Lynn, met Tavon on August 8, 2016 when he was rushed to a hospital trauma center after sustaining a life threatening gunshot wound to his abdomen. Tavon was hospitalized for several months and undergone numerous surgeries. Over the past few years Lynn and myself got to know Tavon and his family very well. His mother Mellanie is a hard working single parent who wants nothing but the best for her family. Tavon has overcome tremendous adversity since being shot at the young age of 10. To say it has been a struggle is an understatement. The family was blessed by being able to move out of a dangerous west side neighborhood and into a much safer area just a few blocks from St. Patrick High School. Tavon has already been accepted to St. Patrick High School and completed a summer program there. His family is receiving some financial aid but still needs much help. The plan is to raise money to cover Tavon's tuition, books, fees etc. This is an enormous opportunity for an fantastic young man to grow and prosper in a SAFE top notch learning environment at this pivotal point in his young life.
