On May 29th 2021, Tara started her morning watching her brother, who she and her husband took over raising a couple years ago after their mother passed , graduate high school! What was supposed to be a night of celebrating, quickly turned into a nightmare. After the graduation Tara, her brother, and his girlfriend traveled to Tara's Father-in-Laws to pick up her two small boys. After getting things together and getting the boys buckled in she finished talking to their Grandpa and Aunt. As she was walking to get into her car she was struck with gunfire in her chest from a random drive-by shooting. Laying on the ground hoping her boys or her brother and his girlfriend weren't hurt she kept calm while the car came around for a second time. She was finally taken to the ER. With covid and being out of work and all the transitions, she currently does not have health insurance and she will not be able to work while she recovers.
