Hello everyone and thank you for reading. I would like to tell you about my beautiful mother, Tammy Carlock. My mom is an incredibly kind, humorous, and generous woman. Having an extraordinary talent for connecting with others, she always makes an impact on the people around her. I am in constant awe of how many people love my mom.
My mother, Tammy Carlock was diagnosed with primary peritoneal cancer last month. The diagnosis came after months of symptoms and a misdiagnosis. I write this today, September 5th as she undergoes surgery to remove the tumors. This is the first step in her treatment, and will be followed by 18 weeks of chemotherapy.
Primary peritoneal cancer is known to be a recurrent cancer. Her surgery is an invasive one, that involves a hysterectomy and omentectomy. Recovery from surgery will take several weeks, followed by months of chemotherapy. It is critical that my mother can focus on her fight against this illness.
My mother is a real estate agent, and considered self-employed. My family and I are concerned for her financial well-being during this time. She doesn’t have the kind of money to pay for chemo or her living expenses as she will be out of work for some time. Because of this, we have turned to GoFundMe to help with some of my mother’s costs. This will not only relieve some of her financial burden, but will also help my mom focus on winning her fight.
My mother has faced serious obstacles in her life, and this is her greatest obstacle yet. She is not someone who likes to ask for help. However, my mom needs help this time so we are asking for her. Any assistance in her situation is appreciated so much more than we can put into words. If unable to assist financially, we appreciate it if you can share this page.
