My friend and brother Tamerat Negera is a dedicated Ethiopianist. I came to know his work and dedication for the Ethiopianist cause during 2005 election as he run for a seat in the Addis Ababa city council although our friendship went way back. He is well known for his work in Addis Neger both as an editor and his famous column political memo.
During his exile in the US , he even became more vocal and sharpened his critic of the ethnic federalism by coining hashtags like #StupidEthnicFederalism and #DismantleEthnicFederalism.
True to his Ethiopianist creed and vision, he is a staunch critic of the state’s dominant ideology of ethnic nationalism and the troubling system of ethnic federalism it concocted. Tamerat is in the middle of establishing a mid-size Audio-Video-Studio and his friends have decided to help him fund it . We believe that the voice of Tamerat needs to be heard even more so at this critical juncture where contending ethnolationalists are jostling for power paving the way for more bloodshed in the country .
