This is Talia Sarah Foster she is 12yrs old.When she was born she wasn't breathing for 10 mins an had to be resuscitated this has left her with complex needs.Talia had a 1st seizure at 4days old an had to be rushed into hospital.They then found 2 brain cysts on a ultra sound (perventricular lycoma) an egg showed idiopathic generalised epliepsy .At 2mths old she went on to develop infantile spams (west syndrome).she has had over thousands of seizures in her life and has now been left with reduction in the white brain matter frontal an temporal lobes,epilepsy,fluctuating muscle tone, registered blind, autism,reflux,respiratory problems and dystonia.
Recently after a routine xray the found what they thought was a little curve.she got sent for a full body xray which showed this little curve wasn't it's massive 85% scoliosis curve in the lumbar region of her spine and the Drs have missed it for 2yrs. At some point she will need major spinal surgey.
We are now fundraising to get her the BaffinTrio mutli postional chair and Multifunctional standing frame, Baffin TRIO™, is designed to easily set Talia in a sitting, standing, supine or transitional position, at a touch of a button on the remote control. Baffin TRIO™ this is also excellent for her as she suffers from fixed knee or hip contracture from her muscle tone
The innovative system of built-in Second Spine® Technology, side supports and pelvic correction ensure easier positioning of Talia in sitting and standing position, making it an excellent.
Talia no longer has a work chair at home as the Occupational therapist no longer provide them. She also doesn't have a stander of her own an shares a one at school with another child as government funding is short.Talia is a over 40kg an 5ft Tall now and is forever growing the chair would be a god sent an she will not have to be lifted by her parents to 3 different piece of equipment as this is all in 1 a stander a work chair a laydown bed.
