Well after 6 long years I’ve finally made it to this point. I started out this journey wanting only to make something that I wanted to see and enjoy. To try and make authentic street tacos. This journey has definitely been filled with highs & lows and uncertainties but at the core is a strong dedication to y’all, the culture and myself.
I started out late nights at the bar in downtown Oakland, I scaled up to the food trailer and busted my ass to get past the first two COVID years. What was next was my day to day question coming into this year. Was this the year that I finally get a space?
El Ultimo Baile is named in honor of my late grandmother who loved to dance and always joked around. It also encompasses a mood, the last dance of the night, a spirit of celebration. We attempt to serve Northern Mexico style tacos using mesquite charcoal, handmade flour tortillas and simple street style ingredients made from scratch. #BienHecho
I’ll be transitioning into the former Nyum Bai location in Fruitvale Plaza. Big shout out to Nite, Chef & Owner of Nyum Bai for having the confidence in me to activate the space and for helping in the process. Opening date coming real soon.
