Help Support Todd Darby

This fundraiser has been created for Todd Darby.   As many of you know, Todd has lived in Milton, Georgia since 2008.   He is a beloved son, husband, father of four, and friend to many.  Since 2009, he has been active in working with the homeless through Won By One Ministry of Atlanta and the Peachtree & Pine Homeless Shelter.  Todd’s work with the homeless has been focused on food distribution, clothing donations, mentoring & faith encouragement, teaching Bible Study, resume writing, and job search assistance.  Since 2015, he’s worked helping people transition out of the jail systems in Gwinnett County Georgia (through a partnership of Won By One Ministry & Georgia Calls) and Cherokee County Georgia (through Won By One Ministry & Lion Life Ministry).  Todd’s work in the jails has included teaching classes (often inside the jail itself) on resume writing and entrepreneurship/ how to start your own business.  Todd’s service for these 10+ years has always been with a heart to love and care for others through Jesus Christ.  Todd is also an active member at Stonecreek Church in Milton Georgia, and before that was an active member at College Park Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Todd was recently hospitalized due to complications from Type-2 Diabetes.  He had a foot injury that quickly escalated into a severe and dangerous infection.  He was hospitalized for several days, and continues to require medications, follow-up appointments, and post-op treatments.  Todd also dealt with another medical challenge in 2019 related to Macular Degeneration requiring frequent eye injections.  In 2018 Todd was diagnosed with Stage-2 Kidney Disease.

Todd’s employment was also recently impacted due to the Coronavirus/ Covid-19.  Todd is now operating without health insurance which puts a major strain on him to afford the medications that he needs.  Todd’s medical bills also continue to come in.  He’s unable to work right now due to his operation and infection.   Your donations will be used during this very difficult and urgent time of need.

Everyone who knows Todd knows of his love for his family.  What many of you don’t know is his dedication to serving others especially those in need.  Todd has faithfully served during 2010 through 2016 monthly with the homeless in downtown Atlanta.  What we heard again and again from the homeless was their wish for full-time paid employment.  Todd had the idea to begin a resume writing class for the homeless which we then took into help those transitioning out of Jail.  Since 2017, Todd has taught fifty (50) resume writing classes to the homeless, those incarcerated in jail, and those who have recently transitioned back into the workforce.  Over this past decade, Todd has helped with writing more than three-hundred (300) customized resumes for men and women across Metro Atlanta.  Todd does this without fanfare or looking for any accolades.  Todd does this to share Jesus' love and help brothers and sisters in their true times of need.

Todd still loves his Green Bay Packers and looks forward to a return of NFL football this September.  Todd's favorite Packer shirt says "God, Family, Packers...In That Order" - Vince Lombardi.  Todd will use this fun shirt to strike up conversations with the men in jail.  Todd is also still extremely passionate about World War II military history.  Todd's not collecting WWII memorabilia any more, but he is working on starting his own podcast focused on military history and divine intervention in those major events.  Please encourage this opportunity for Todd to share his love for and wealth of knowledge with the world.

We have only made it this far because of the prayers, support, and generosity of family and friends like you -- and we are so grateful!  Todd and his family have been amazed by how many people have reached out to offer kindness and help.   Should you choose to donate, the funds will be used for medical treatment and associated costs along the way as Todd continues to manage the complications and fights to get back to better health.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this. We wish you all good health and happiness in 2020.   God Bless you all!

With Love,
Todd’s Friends & Family
