Support the Terminal building’s 2nd Floor tenants

The historic Terminal building in Fairhaven was destroyed by fire on Sunday, December 17. This building, one of the oldest in Fairhaven, housed a much-loved café and a restaurant on the main floor as well as nine offices with twelve tenants on the second floor. The second floor tenants, mostly mental health and massage therapists, also lost everything in the fire. Although the owners have committed to rebuilding, this could take more than a year so the group must retool and relocate, hopefully to a building nearby. The existing rental and building insurance will not cover most of what these therapists need to re-establish their offices.

Many in our community have been helped, comforted, and cared for by the tenants of the Terminal building’s second floor businesses. Now it’s our turn to give back to them! We estimate that approximately $4000 per tenant will help each of them get back on their feet and reestablish their office and their livelihood. We are asking the community to help us raise $48,000 to cover these expenses (professional materials, furniture, computers, printers, office supplies, etc). All funds raised will be divided equally among the upstairs tenants with the exception of one who does not need the funds. Any excess funds will go directly towards other relief efforts already happening in the building. Any amount helps! Thank you very much!

I'm a friend of one of the mental health therapists in the building. I decided to organize this appeal because I value the help these people provide to our community. To save the business owners the time and hassle of dealing with fundraising, we've chosen one of the tenants, Breeze Potts, to distribute the funds to all of the second-floor tenants.
