Hi everyone, my name is Chelsea Smith and I’m putting together a go fund me to help support my cousin Shannon Janes and her family. Right before Christmas Shannon’s doctor informed her that she a 6cm brain tumor. The tumor is inoperable and can not be biopsied because of the tumors location and being wrapped around her brain stem. Since finding out this information she has had several appointments including a petscan which showed no cancer throughout her body. She has started 30, 15 minute radiation treatments 5 days a week. As the doctors can’t completely confirm the tumor is not cancerous because they are unable to biopsy it she is taking a chemo pill that goes along with the radiation. She will take the Chemo pill for 42 days then she will stop taking it for 4 weeks then start the chemo pill back up for 6-12 months. The doctors are hoping to shrink the tumor to at least half the size and then monitor it after that. Shannon is no longer able to work to help support her family. For anyone who knows Shannon knows that she loves to be with her family, friends, and her chickens. She is the most kind, independent, selfless, giving person anyone has ever met. She is always the one giving to everyone and is bad at accepting help. So we as her family ask that this time it be about her.
