Help support shane's Crohns journey

Don protégé
Shane has been suffering from a severe and debilitating case of Chrohn’s Disease for the past 17 years.  Shane has had 6 surgeries since his diagnosis in his first semester of college.  He is now 34. Chrohn’s is a chronic and painful inflammatory bowel disease.  In simple terms, Shane's immune system is attacking his gastrointestinal system.   This causes inflammation, ulcerations and lesions to form in his gastrointenstinal tract and has lead to life threatening complications.  There is no known cure for Chrohn’s. In 2015, Shane had a devastating emergency surgery to remove most of his large intestine and add an iliostomy, an opening in his abdomen for a waste collection bag.  Unfortunately, further infections and Chrohn lesions necessitated the removal of what remained of his large intestine and the movement of his illiostomy to his other side.  The doctor is cautiously hopeful that this time it will heal. Through all of this, Shane has attempted to work full-time and care for his family.  He is the proud father of two boys.  Shane has worked repairing large lawn care equipment and most recently as an elevator apprentice.  Chrohn’s has taken this away from him.  He has been out of work since April 2017.  Shane would like nothing better than to be healthy enough to return to work.  Any money raised would be put toward helping this family to remain in their home. Our deepest appreciation goes out to all who are able to assist Shane and his family with their immediate financial needs.
