Please help Reeta cover basic costs after major surgery

As many as you know, our good friend, DJ, Yoga Instructor & Poet - Reeta - has been in and out of hospital since 2020. She now has to have yet another major surgery. This time she is getting an abdominal hysterectomy due to more complications.

Reeta was first hospitalised in 2020 for Low Iron Deficiency Anemia which she only discovered having after a series of awful health incidents... abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, dizzy spells and fainting. She already knew she had a trait of Sickle Cell Anemia due to her family history (having an uncle die from the disease). After 3 blood infusions and 1 iron infusion and spending nearly a week in hospital she thought she was on the road to recovery.

Unfortunately, the pain & heavy bleeding persisted and she was told she had uterine fibroids. Over the next few years she would undergo numerous amounts of different medications, invasive procedures and treatments to try and remove the fibroids. At one point the Mirena Coil was inserted and somehow was misplaced and lodged itself into her cervix wall (more than likely blood clots). Unknowing why she was in a different type of pain, she once again was admitted to get the coil surgically removed from her cervix.

Since then she has undergone numerous invasive procedures... colposcopies, cervix and uterine biopsies, radial scar removals (breast) & numerous smear tests, etc.  

In 2023 she received a Myomectomy. This is the surgery most of you know about as your generosity helped Reeta pay for medical bills and allowed her time to heal and rest. 

Since then, Reeta has been in more severe pain, massive clots and non stop bleeding. Turns out, after all the procedures, operations and medications, the fibroids have returned. As a result getting a hysterectomy is her final decision to hopefully end the suffering once and for all.

This operation is a lot more severe than the others and will take a couple of months for Reeta to recover. Please consider donating (some of you once again) to help cover her medical costs and allow her time to heal and recover. Reeta can’t work and has no family or support in Ireland. And we can all once again enjoy her company, whether it's on the dance floor or on the yoga mat or even a cup of tea. Reeta is special to most of us. Thank you for your time and consideration and any donation is very much appreciated!
