Hello,
My name is Prabhjot and I am Arvinder Singh Sabharwal and Gurmeet Kaur's elder daughter. Our family of four moved to the United States hoping for a safe and better future in November 2014. We were all hard at work to try and make that our reality, however, on January 31, 2018, my father Arvinder Singh Sabharwal found himself the victim of a robbery, during which he was brutally assaulted. On February 8, 2018, he died due to the injuries sustained.
My sister and I are 13 and 15 years old, and in grade 8 and 11, respectively. Our father's untimely passing has left us devastated, emotionally and financially. We have also lost the primary breadwinner of our family. Our mother works a minimum wage job in a warehouse to make ends meet. The security of our future has been taken away from us, making even survival difficult.
We are turning to you in hopes of fulfilling his - and our own - dream of a better future for us. We are reaching out to you to help continue our education so that we can carve a better future for us and our family.
