We in the Special Classes for Autism in Fenor NS are lucky enough to have secured planning permission for a new building which we hope to be in by September 2022. We're looking forward to this new chapter but in the meantime, we have needs that we cannot meet on our own. We are asking for help.
Like all children, our students have suffered during this unprecedented time of lockdown, of being away from their school, their friends and their support network. But children with autism have, perhaps, felt this more acutely than others. We hope to fundraise for some new equipment and sensory stimulating toys for use in both our classrooms and our sensory room such as a Squeeze Machine for deep proprioceptive input, computers, Lego, and good quality durable toys for thematic play. We believe these new resources will help enormously! We believe these resources will ease their anxieties and support these children as we return to school again.
