On Wednesday 18 November we lost Michael Momo, a much loved and valued member of the Greyhound Australia family, after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident on the Peak Downs Highway near Moranbah.
Michael's partner Rei and their two children, along with his elderly father and extended family, will benefit greatly from your generosity. Donations will help support Michael's family financially during this difficult time.
Michael Momo joined Greyhound in June 2013 as a casual team member in our Brisbane depot. He started his apprenticeship as a Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic and received his qualification in June 2018. During his time in the Brisbane workshop, Michael proved himself not only as a very competent tradesperson, but also as a genuine and highly respected human being and joyful and very productive member of our Greyhound family.
In recent times, Michael had been working in Mackay and the Bowen Basin to assist the Greyhound Resources team. Michael’s can-do, positive attitude and his outstanding mechanical skills quickly earned him great respect and a large circle of friends in the Bowen Basin. He was always quick to smile and say g’day – especially if you wanted to talk about rugby. Michael recently accepted a full-time role in the Bowen Basin with Greyhound on a fly-in-fly-out basis so he could still get quality time with his beloved family in Brisbane.
