Help Support Lawsen's Medical Bills

My sister in law, Amber and my 9 year old niece, Lawsen were involved in a head on collision on Rt 5 in Charles City County on Sunday night. The other driver (illegally driving) came into their lane colliding fully head on with their car and that is the moment in which all of my family's lives changed. Amber has multiple lacerations on her face, chest, arms, cut and bruised from the seat belt and fractured ankle. Lawsen however, sustained a great deal of trauma and is in pediatric ICU at MCV Hospital. Among her injuries are multiple skull fractures, swelling on the brain, broken eye sockets, injured eyeball, broken jaws, knocked out 8 permanent teeth, burst ear drums, extreme facial lacerations, internal injuries and a broken femur. She had surgery to install rods in her femur yesterday and is undergoing facial surgery to put metal plates in her face to reconstruct her jaws today. These are just the beginning of the surgeries she will be needing from here on. The Dr.'s estimate she will need to be hospitalized at the minimum, 8 to 10 weeks and will require a great deal of therapy. My family asks that you please, please, pray for her. We've set up this fund in hopes that those who know our family, who care to and are able to, will be kind enough to help with some of the phenomenal medical expenses. My brother, Michael, a state trooper, was medically retired on April 1st for spinal injuries sustained on the job. He has put his life on the line to serve and protect our community. Life has not been easy because of his spinal injury and it ending his career, it's been a huge struggle financially. Life just took another one of those crazy turns for him and his family. Our family needs any help you are willing to give.
