“The best way to make children good is to make them happy.” – Oscar Wilde

Hi, my name is Zola and I am the proudest Auntie to 2 really great kids who have so much potential, you can see it shining through in their eyes. I am starting this fundraising campaign to help my family in Jamaica send my niece and nephew to a new and better academic environment with more opportunities for them to succeed when the new school year starts in September 2020.

I know that with our help, these kids can become game changers!

Currently, the kids live with my Mother, Asha, in Oracabessa, St Mary, Jamaica. Kymani turned 9 on April 17th and Ishawna will turn 7 this November 4th. They came to live with us when they were both very young, Kymani came when he was 2 years old and Ishawna joined the crew when she was almost 7 months.

I HAVE SPENT THE LAST 3 YEARS AWAY FROM MY FAMILY IN JAMAICA pursuing my dream of becoming a medical doctor, AND ALTHOUGH IT hasn’t been easy, I am focused on the road ahead and being able to make my own mark in the world. I truly believe I am able to stand firm in my own journey today because of the drive & determination I saw in my mother, A STRONG Rastafarian woman who raised me and my siblings as a single parent.

There were great financial difficulties back then, but Mama Asha knew how to make magic with what she had and make it ‘enough’ for all of us. She is the backbone of our family. When we lost our home to fire in 2004, and we had to make many changes to our life, my Mother stayed strong and taught all of us kids the power of ‘perseverance through the struggle’.

She is a woman who definitely knows how to “mek a mikkle into a muckle” as we say in Jamaica, and with some help from us, her vision of Kymani & Ishawna receiving aN education that will prepare them to become adults who can make a difference in this world, will become a reality.

We are asking you, our village, to help us invest in these two beautiful souls. In my time overseas, I have seen the value of having a good educational base which can open up great opportunity for the children of today, especially now that the world is going through a pandemic that has changed the wants and needs of the people.

The school we want to send the children to, is called Liberty Learning Centre, a private school with smaller classes that give students more one on one time with the teacher. This school offers a great environment for Kymani and Ishawna to excel.

OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL FOR THIS YEAR IS–

US $3,000 TO COVER 1ST YEAR SCHOOL FEES AND BOOK COSTS FOR THE KIDS:
