For those of you who know me, you know I absolutely hate asking for help; however, desperate times call for desperate measures. My sweet boy Koda has been struggling within the last month, going from bad to worse. Anything (I really truly mean that) helps more than I can express. Koda's full health story is below for those who want to read, thank you from Koda & I <3
This all began on October 27th when Koda jumped out of our one-story condo window. I took him to the vet the same day, knowing something was wrong. His blood samples have all been normal; however, his urine came back dilute. Fast forward to a week later, and we were doing chest and abdominal x-rays. A small mass was found on his kidneys, but we’ve been told it’s too small and would be too invasive to try and test it. This last Friday, (Nov 14th) we took him in for an abdominal ultrasound. The ultrasound shows a small mass on his spleen and his kidney, both too small and too invasive to perform on. The issue with all of this is that Koda is losing muscle mass at a rapid rate. He began this ordeal weighing 88 pounds and now weighs 76 pounds; his weight, body, and health are rapidly declining. His physical issues have been affecting his mental state. He’s now peeing in the house (often), stressed constantly, and of course, jumping out of the window. The next step in the process is further testing, including a Maldigestion Profile as well as a Muscle Biopsy. As you can imagine, none of this has been or will continue to be cheap; between Koda's bills, the cost of school, rent, and day-to-day life, I am struggling and seeking any help I can receive. Koda means the world to me. For those of you who have met him, you know he’s the sweetest boy, but if you’ve seen him within the last month, you also know he’s not doing so great. If you’ve read this far, thank you for taking the time to read. Please send any thoughts and/or prayers as we try to figure out what’s going on with him. Anything helps, thank you again from Koda and I <3
