Last year my dear friend Emily, had an emergency medical issue, which ended in life saving surgery. This year she has already had to have another and will soon have to have one - two more, that we know of.
Emily is a very private person and doesn’t like to burden other with her issues. Knowing this I will describe what has happened to her without delving in too deeply. Her first surgery was to remove a part of her digestive system, as it had died and was not providing her body wIth any nutrients. The second was three weeks ago, and is the beginning process of a reconstruction. Due to complications from the second surgery, she has had to go back into hospital and will possibly have to undergo another surgery shortly. In a few months she will have the final one to finish the reconstruction process. What I will say is that not just anyone can go through what she has gone through and still be as strong and positive as she is.
She is the type of person to come out of an intense and invasive surgery and attempt to come back to work two weeks later. The type of person to come out of surgery and want to invite all of her friends over for a home made dinner two days later. To put it simply, she is amazing.
As most people would know all too well, surgeries cost a lot of money. Also, with surgeries comes recovery time. At this present stage, this surgery is putting her out of work for 6 weeks, the next surgeries will be the same.
With ongoing medical costs, as well as everyday living, being without a weekly income is a very stressful situation. What I am asking for in this GoFundMe campaign is help. Help Emily to pay rent and bills, to buy groceries and petrol and to help with ongoing medical costs. She would never ask for this herself, so I am going to on her behalf.
While she has stayed so positive through all of the ordeals she has faced (she is a miracle). There are times where her strength can waiver. Along with your donations, if you could please include messages of support this would be greatly appreciated.
Emily and her partner Andrew are among the nicest and most selfless people you would ever meet. They are overwhelmed with the love everyone has already sent through with their messages.
