David Baker was hurt in an ATV accident on June 6th. His ATV rolled on top of him & he has 5-6 broken ribs & a broken scapula. Debbie & Tyler took him to Denison Iowa ER & he was then transferred to Omaha to UNMC as a Trauma 1 patient.
He is having surgery on Thursday to have rib plates put in so that the ribs heal correctly. They are going to let the scapula heal on its own. We are hoping to have him home by Saturday.
No one is allowed to be with him & he is very lonely without Debbie by his side.
The medical bills will be tremendous & he won’t be going back to work anytime soon. He has only been at his job for 2 months so there is no long or short term disability available.
He will have about 6 week recovery for the breaks & then 6-8 months of physical therapy for his scapula.
