Help Support Christine's Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
Meet Christine. Those of you that know her would agree that she is one of the most amazing, caring, thoughtful people you will ever meet. This is why Christine's sister Kimberly, friend Alyssa, and I wanted to set up this GoFundMe for her.  Christine was recently given some news that nobody ever hopes to receive. On July 31, after a biopsy was done on what was initially thought to be a cyst, Christine was diagnosed with Triple-Positive Breast Cancer. After additional testing was performed, it was discovered that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and will require aggressive therapy. More testing is needed to determine the stage of cancer, but at this time, it is speculated to be Stage 3. Christine will begin with chemotherapy next week, followed by probable surgery and possible radiation.

As you may know, chemotherapy has numerous side effects – nausea, fatigue, dryness, mouth sores, cracked skin, etc. Christine, with the support of her oncologist, has therefore decided to also work with a naturopath to increase her chances of successfully getting through this. The main goals of the naturopathic therapies are to combat side effects of the chemotherapy and improve quality of life, as well as to increase the efficacy of conventional medicine. The therapies that Christine will be undergoing are as follows:

Vitamin C Therapy – vitamin C administered intravenously at high doses surrounds the healthy cells in a protective coating. As a result, this therapy minimizes pain and protects normal tissue from being destroyed. Consequently, cancer cells deplete and begin to die off.

Hyperthermia – otherwise known as non-invasive radiation therapy. This electromagnetic treatment heats the cancer cells to a high temperature, helping to reduce any migrations of potentially metastatic cells, while also damaging the central mass and causing healthy cells to move in.

Mistletoe Therapy – stimulates immune function, increases white blood cell counts, and reduces the side effects of chemotherapy significantly, while also increasing the efficacy of it. By stimulating immune function, the cells are able to recognize the inflammation present and begin to heal from the inside out. This helps to prevent infections that can arise due to the chemotherapy.

Chemotherapy also negatively affects the reproductive organs, and in order to increase their chances of being able to someday start a family, Christine and her husband Brad have also opted to undergo IVF fertility treatment.

Unfortunately, the cost of the naturopathic therapies along with the IVF is very high – approximately $35 000 combined, possibly more. Christine will be unable to work through the duration of her treatment, and although Brad is able to work, we feel that they have enough to worry about at this time, and we would like to minimize the financial strain for them as much as possible.

Anyone who knows Christine can attest to the fact that she is one of the most positive, most resilient people you will ever meet. She has an internal strength beyond measure and we know that she is going to come out of this with her head held high, but let’s show her that she is far from alone in this difficult time. If you are able to donate, any amount is greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing Christine’s story and keeping her in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much!
