Help Support Becky’s Battle With Cancer

21 year old Becky has been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of Cancer called Uterine Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. This type of cancer has only 60 recorded cases. 20 are in the uterus like Becky.

Becky had surgery to cut out the tumour. Unfortunately with cancer confirmed, Becky underwent a second surgery - a Hysterectomy. While recovering from these surgeries, she received a call from Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto to come in for treatment plan.

Becky will begin a one year treatment plan which consists of 14 rounds of Chemotherapy and Radiation. Also, Becky must have another surgery to move her ovaries so Radiation does not destroy them and put her into Menopause at her young age. Adding to all of this, Becky is working with Doctors on a fertility plan in case she wants to consider parenthood in her future. There are so many decisions, and many of them need to be made without much time to ponder options.

Becky is a warrior. Her family describe her as the most resilient and positive person they know. Her strength and ability to find the silver lining inspires her Mom, Janie and Nanny, Glenda. Becky’s resilience and positive attitude have been tested and demonstrated for the world to see as she lives with another rare condition, Myasthenia Gravis. MG has made impacts on Becky’s life but she’s faced them boldly like the warrior she is.
