Kelly’s Journey

Kelly is a resident in Lethbridge , who had a dream one day of owning his own butcher shop , like his Great Grandpa. Well about a year and a half ago , his dream can true , and he became the owner of Legacy Meats , in Lethbridge Alberta ! He worked hard to get it going ! Business license, a place for him , fridges , freezers , coolers , saws, knifes , etc . All the things that you need to start up a business , Kelly did … and then wow , he looked one day and said yes I did it ! He has been working hard to succeed and become a successful businessman and making sure everyone is looked after and has the right cut of beef , pork , the right kind of sausage etc ! He has been an amazing part of the community, helping everyone , with fundraisers, helping people get exactly what very person that walks through his doors wants ! Lots of people come and call Kelly for help , whether it’s how much does a half a cow cost , or can you make me a meat box for my family , or hey , which is the best steak for me ! Kelly loves his job and loves seeing each and everyone that walks through his doors !! Kelly is kind hearted , caring individual who has a heart of gold and if he could he would love to help everyone out ! You see him in the community helping other businesses out and throwing out recommendations to other places if he doesn’t have something. Well one day Kelly went into the hospital as he had an hernia, well after some X-rays and a CT scan, Kelly got some really bad news , the doctor came and said , let’s go talk in the room , they told him that he had stage 3 colon cancer and that it had moved into his liver , well he heart dropped and he was at a loss for words , so of course Kelly said well I have to get back to work , well here kelly is , now he has to go to all these appointments and try to manage and run his shop and the doctors told him that he will have to have surgery and he will possibly be off for 2-3 months . Well his heart dropped more as he was thinking , now what do I do ? My dream that I have worked hard for is going to fall apart , not something that someone who has worked so so hard to get to where he is today wants to hear , so we are asking people to help Kelly in his journey and help him manage his health and business during this ruff patch in life .

To sum up the history on Kelly and why he wanted to open up a butcher shop , here is Kelly !

Hello everyone, Kelly Forsyth here , here is a quick overview on why I wanted to open up my own butcher shop in Lethbridge! To carry on my Great Grandfather‘s legacy.

My Legacy of butchering stems from my Great Grandfather Ernie Pankherst (Nampie), running his own butcher shop Economy Meats for over 30 years on the south side of Lethbridge Alberta, choosing only locally produced meats. He learned the art by the “old timers”, keep your knives sharp, your work area clean and cut it correctly. Anyone that knows me, knows I take pride in the best service possible.
