Help Stella Fight Voldemort (Cancer)

On the 7th of May, after many weeks of investigation, Stella Morisi, aged 10 years old, found out she has a cancerous tumour in her leg, a Ewing Sarcoma. Tapping into her Morisi-style humour and resilience, Stella has named the tumour Voldemort (from Harry Potter) because cancer is obviously evil and needs to be destroyed. I can’t think of a better way for a 10 year old to characterise the fight of her life in such a meaningful way. Some of us have worked with her Mum, Maryann, and have had the pleasure of meeting the sparkly Miss Stella through this connection. We want her parents, Maryann and Adrian, to be able to dedicate their mental energy to their little 'star', Stella. Keeping Stella healthy while her body undergoes the rigors of Chemotherapy is imperative. The intense chemotherapy regime reduces her immunity and one of the instructions from the Royal Children's Hospital is to wash her linen every few days. To do this, her Mum and Dad require a working washing machine and not worrying if that strange noise from the washing machine, means it has spun its final spin cycle. The main purpose of this request for financial support is to be able to purchase a new washing machine, up to the task of all of that washing. So we are setting a target of $50 00. If we get more than is needed for a washing machine, it will be a happy day indeed. Other costs to be covered involve: Extra wear and tear on vehicles, including servicing and tyres, as they traipse up and down the freeway to Melbourne for treatment. Accommodation costs for family to stay in Melbourne (only one parent can stay in hospital with Stella) Hire and/or purchase of equipment such as a wheelchair, crutches, showering and toileting equipment Income supplement when they run out of paid sick leave Any other expenses that arise during this journey.
