Help Stella Fight Cancer

To all family and friends,

Last week, Peter received some devastating news. Stella, his sister and only living immediate family member, was diagnosed with stage four lung, breast, and bone cancer.

After several difficult discussions and much research, their family has decided to go to world renowned CHIPSA Hospital: Advanced Cancer Center for alternative treatments. It has been a whirlwind of emotions, but the severity of her condition combined with the other treatment options offered to her have led she and her family to believe this is their best hope.

Beginning April 11th, her treatment will last for three weeks before she returns home. Her family will take turns flying back and forth to be with her while she navigates treatment. Unfortunately, these types of alternative treatments are not covered by insurance.

As we all know cancer treatment of any kind is very costly and this is no exception. The expected total cost is $40,000.00. Peter and I decided to start this GO FUND ME PAGE to try and offset the cost of the treatment, her lack of income during this process, and the travel costs for her family. We want to make sure that they do not stress about financial worries and just focus on healing. After the treatment is complete, she will still be unable to work for six months. Her husband will be taking a significant time away from his own work to be with her during treatment and assist her during recovery.

At 61, Stella ia still very young. She has run a daycare for lower income children for over 35 years and works hard every day to love and nurture the children in her care.

Stella runs her daycare (sometimes 24 hours if the client needs her) successfully, and with great pride. She puts everything in to her children -  always having parties and giving presents for every occasion. Stella's heart truly goes into into every child that has been in her care.

She is an avid letter writer and makes all of her own greeting cards.
She is the kindest, gentlest woman you will ever meet.
She is a great cook and loves her family; she knows every family member and friends birthdays and never forgets to wish someone well.
She was looking forward to retirement in the next year or two.
