Help St. Simon Rebuild Fire Destroyed Church

Dear friends,

Our local Historical Baptist Church in Orange Park, Florida, was built in 1965. After many years of supporting various communities within the Clay County, Florida, area, we at St. Simon Baptist Church always kept the church doors open to anyone needing spiritual refuge, Christian education, and leadership.

In 2004, the Lord graciously blessed us with an opportunity to purchase the Church building we called our home, which has been a great blessing for the community and us.

In 2019, our church and congregation were able to pay off the property and began a church expansion, as well as a renovation construction project for needed improvements on the building.

On March 25, 2021, we tragically lost our beloved church to a devastating fire, which is considered arson. Despite the best efforts by the first responders, community, and parishioners, the building was a total loss.

The congregation at that time was engaged in outside drive-up worship due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and now, we were blessed to lease a store-front space to have worship services, prayer meetings, and Bible Study.

We have faith that God's hand will lead us through this challenging time and help us rebuild our place of worship for His glory and praise.

We want to thank the first responders and anyone in the community; who reached out and offered condolences and a kind hand in helping and supporting the Church thus far.

We would also like to convey our profound appreciation to all the churches in the surrounding areas for their support, assistance, prayers, and friendship.

This event has made us stronger, using this passage of scripture in 1 Corinthians 12:26-27 “And whether one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”
