Help spay and neuter Potcakes (stray island dogs)
Turks and Caicos (and other islands in the Caribbean) have a very large population of homeless dogs and cats, locally known as “potcakes” because they survive on the burnt “cakes” of food that are left on the bottom of pots after cooking and dumped out for them to eat. Dr. Susan Burkhart of Animal Medical Center of Ontario volunteers at the TCSPCA performing spays, neuters, examinations and vaccinations of animals in desperate need. While she gets donations of supplies, each spay/neuter still costs $25 to perform.
Dr. Burkhart is returning to Turks and Caicos on April 26th to do spays and neuters and treat homeless dogs and cats. Please consider donating to sponsor treatment and help her provide medical care for these poor homeless potcakes.
