P17X BRIDGE TO SUCCESS!! SOUTH BRONX, NY
The COVID-19 pandemic is ravaging school communities across the country. The P17X elementary school in the Bronx, NY is no exception. P17X came to our attention through a lifelong friend and dedicated Compliance Coordinator at the school. We were discussing the challenges of online learning for students with disabilities and we wanted to help. P17X is a District 75 program that builds the skills of children with special needs and fosters their independence and individuality. It is the mission of teachers and staff at P17X that each and every child is taught to be as self-supporting as possible while also developing their academic and social skills. Many students at P17X are able to at least keep up with their education through remote learning at home during the pandemic. However, there is a group of students that do not have access to technology for a variety of reasons (they have to share with multiple siblings, their family cannot afford a device, etc.). The handful of students that do not have a device to work on at home do not have access to education and are at a huge disadvantage. It’s as simple as this….no laptop, no tablet, not even a phone…..No way these children succeed this school year. This is no fault of their own. These students are as resilient, eager and hard-working as students in other more prosperous communities, but need our help. Learn more about the P17X program and mission
We want to close the opportunity and income gap for these special students by September 14, 2020. At Archima Solutions we implement cloud-based technology solutions for a living. We know this can be fixed! Your donation will go towards providing a wi-fi/cellular enabled Chromebook and other necessary school supplies. Your donation will make the difference in what could be a lost school year for many of these students. Please help us help the P17X students by donating anything you can afford so they can attend online school and fulfill the school mission of building their bridge to success!
