Soun Love was 19 when her life changed for ever. She became a double amputee, following Haïti’s earthquake in January 2010. Thousands of lives were lost and forever altered.
An article in the Los Angeles Times, brought forth her situation and generated the greatest level of assistance from M. Jack Saltzberg. He shared her story, generated a donation line and overcame many hurdles that enabled Soun Love to receive new legs (prosthesis), rehabilitation in Israël at the Medical Center Chaim Sheba for almost 4 months. (If this would ever be read by M. Saltzberg, and the friends of Sheba, and the kindest staff at the medical center, thank you so very much.)
Now 10-11 years later, the two prosthetic legs that had given her back her independence and a degree of quality of life, are causing wounds and infections due to their advanced wear.
Even the most expensive prosthetic limbs are built to withstand only 3 to 5 year of wear and tear.
Soun Love Needs :
• Medication
• An operation on one of the stump
• 2 new prosthetic legs
• Reeducation
• Maintenance and repair (for the years to come)
• Medical follow up
After many calls, emails, we were able to find a qualified doctor for her operation and a center that specialize in the delivery of physical medicine and rehabilitation in Haiti.
The total cost is 5650$ US/ 7335$ CAN
No amount is too small, and the difference will certainly be great.

Soun Love était âgée de 19, lorsque sa vie changea à jamais. Elle est devenue une double amputée des jambes, victime du tremblement de terre en Haïti en janvier 2010. Des milliers de vies ont été perdues et a jamais transformées.
Un article publié dans le Los Angeles Times a exposé sa situation et généré un incroyable élan d’entraide, de M. Jack Saltzberg et Friends of Sheba Medical Center. Il a partagé son histoire, créer une ligne de dons, enjambé plusieurs complexités logistiques, qui a permis à Soun Love de recevoir 2 nouvelles prothèses et de la réhabilitation pendant près 4 mois en Israël.
Maintenant 10 bientôt 11 ans plus tard, les prothèses qui lui ont permis de retrouver son indépendance et un standard de vie, lui cause périodiquement des plaies et infections; dû à leurs usures avancées.
Même les prothèses les plus dispendieuses ont une durée de vie de 3 à 5 ans.
