Please help Sophie Ludwig dance--
Our Sophie (12 yrs old) is the middle child of six kids, and for almost three years she has been discovering a talent and a love for classical ballet. Despite only beginning ballet nearly three years ago, she has worked so hard at pursuing her dream and we were overjoyed to see her take the main stage as Clara for Brevard Ballet Academy's 2018 performance of the Nutcracker.
Now, in her first time auditioning for summer intensives, she has been accepted as a level 5 student at the competitive and nationally-renowned Houston Ballet summer intensive. We are a frugal family with a good income, but ballet is an expensive sport and we have six growing children to support. We don't have the funds to pay for this intensive's tuition ($2,900) and housing ($3,170).
Please help us fund this advancement in her passion for dance. Both inside and outside of dance class, Sophie is such a humble and serious worker. She is a dedicated student, reader, dog-walker, and household helper, and she is always ready to put aside her dreams for her family. Her end goal is to become a professional dancer. We don't want to be entitled or wasteful--we only want her to be able to pursue her talent and her passion without bearing our financial difficulties.
Funds donated will be used to
*pay for the first installment and subsequent installments of tuition and housing (up to around $6,000)
*pay for airfare, meals, and tuition insurance
Any excess funds will be used to
*pay for pointe shoes and ballet attire
*pay for normal tuition expenses
*pay for transport to/from the ADC|IBC national dance competition, in which we hope she may win some scholarships
*pay for lodging & meals to/from the ADC/IBC national dance competition
