Help Sofie visit her dad in Canada

I had this idea that when I turned 30 I would have a huge party and invite all my friends; everyone I haven’t seen in forever, because life has changed so much in the last 6 years and I miss so many people. 

Now as the time is coming closer I find myself feeling quite sad that corona is interfering with my plans and the opportunity to see so many people that  I truly miss.  

Soo, as my birthday is just around the corner I will have a cozy dinner with  family here in Denmark and hope to have a celebration in the future where everyone I’ve ever known is invited (forever dreaming). 

Until then I will be saving up to visit my father in Canada.

If you don’t know by now my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s roughly 3 years ago and is quite far along in the diagnosis - this means that he does not recognize people at times and confuses time and dates and reality in general.  Some days I am able to get a hold of him but over the past 5 months it has gotten more and more difficult.  

It has been emotionally hard over the years but dad thankfully has some close friends who have taken good care of him, this has been a huge relief from my shoulders and I am forever grateful for these people. 

As I am studying my masters for the next year and a half I have a difficult time with saving up to visit, so now I will ask my friends and family for help. 

For my birthday this year I would really like to see my father. 
I know that it can not happen now but I  have high hopes for summer. 

My goal is 6000 kr to cover the travel expenses. A flight from Copenhagen to Calgary is between 4 and 6000 depending on the time of travel. 

If you have some money to spare It would mean the world to me to be able to visit my father in Canada this year and have some time together that he can hopefully still remember.
