Help SJ Racing Team go to NY

During the spring of 2017, our physics teacher, Mr. Tam, decided to take several students to the Local District Central's STEM Fest in order to get the school more involved in the STEM fields. It was through this fair that we began to learn more about different programs being offered for teachers including the ten80 Racing Challenge.
From the science fair, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) recognized our skills and talents in presenting our physics project. That they provided us materials in October to compete in the ten80 Racing Challenge. With that happening, in November, we were invited to compete in a Fall Racing Challenge Open event and ended up taking 1st place.
After that event, we started to recruit more members to continue the legacy, when the seniors leave. To that extent, we started to prepare for future events that would help us reach our goal: To encourage Miguel Contreras students to pursue a S.T.E.M career, and further enhance their intellect. While, working on the ten80 car, it provided the students with a program, where they can enjoy themself and be themselves.
Several months later, we were invited to the Spring Racing Challenge in which we took 2nd place through our skills. Yet, during this race we realized the lack of resource that took an affect on our ability to win the races and advance in our project.
During these racing events, we earned enough points to get invited to the National STEM League competition held at Troy, New York.
For that reason, we are trying to raise this money before spring break, to be more precise by March 24. In order to represent the Latino community at the national competition so we could transfigure the low percentage of Latinos in the STEM field. Therefore, the funds that we are trying to receive will help us continue our dream of starting a program that will last for many generations to come.
