Help Siobhan & Lon rebuild their home

Donation protected

Siobhan Markee, Downieville's 2nd & 3rd grade teacher, has recently suffered the loss of her home in the Dixie Fire (Indian Falls, CA). All the items in the rental, save a few precious keepsakes she and her husband, Lon, were able to take with them as they fled to Nevada City for safety, have been lost. This is a a huge financial blow to the couple, who also recently replaced their major appliances due to the PG & E power surge this year on top of having been burglarized of valuables and home items in Eureka, CA just a few years prior.

Siobhan & Lon, who have been looking to relocate to the Downieville area since October of 2020 but have been unsuccessful in finding a rental with the current housing shortage in Sierra County, are now in dire need of a home and resources to help rebuild their lives in our community.

Any and all donations will go directly to Siobhan and Lon and we are grateful for your generosity and support during this incredibly difficult times. And if there is any permanent housing in the area, please let us know by contacting: Niecea or Soibhan (through GoFundMe, Facebook, or email) --the couple is looking for a long-term rental with or without furniture in the surrounding areas of Goodyears, Sierra City, Downieville.
